Which ones are the causes for divorces in Costa Rica?

After the reading of the investigation and conclusions performed by Gordon Berlin in his article ''The Effects of Marriage and Divorce on Families and Children'' it has been brought to my attention the question are those the same reasons of divorce in Costa Rica? What are the main reasons of divorce in Costa Rica? However, I also thought that I am luckly to have my parents still together, the same happens with my grandparents. Then, I had to investigate a bit more of what seem to be the main causes, which I strongly consider are mostly: economy issues, adultery, abuse of the spouse or children.

First, it is well known that Costa Rica is one of the most expensive countries in the world, we do know this information by our own experience. Hence, much couples end up in a divorce due to economy issues that might cause other issues or disagreements in the couple. Second, adultery is one of the most common causes of divorce in the world, and so it is in Costa Rica. Also, it might be from the wife or husband's end. Third, abuse has become one of the most spoken topics in Costa Rica, however, there are couples who forbid their spouse to submit a complaint to the authorities.

In fact, I met a couple who got divorced about four years ago. The main reason of the divorce was due to adultery from the husband, they started processing their divorce papers, and during the process she confessed that she and their three children were abused. Consequently, she was given with the legal custody of their children. However, I remember that she was deppressed since her ex mother-inlaw tried to convince her to forgive her husband, that at the end it is what wifes are supposed to do.

Finally, economy issues, adultery and abuse are the three main causes of divorce in Costa Rica. However, the last cause is the harder to be recognized since it requires a complaint to be submitted, which sadly is harder due to abusive partners.
